Here at Mountain Bike Depot & 'Cross Supply, we are service pros!  We can help you to fine tune your ride with your needs and budget in mind.  We can do everything from basic or advanced tune-ups, custom wheelbuilding, professional quality fitting, instructional classes, and more.  If there's something you need, give us a call, stop in, or send us an email!

Tune Up Level I - $50

This is your basic tune up level, but by no means a bare bones tune up.  We start by wiping down your bike to inspect for any problems, and then follow up with a thorough drivetrain cleaning using all biodegradable cleaners and lube.  Next, we begin truing the wheels and adjusting the hubs.  Once we get the wheels back in the frame, we adjust the shifting front and rear, and the brakes front and rear.  Following all of our adjustments, we check every fastener and re-torque to their appropriate specifications.  It is a very complete service and will get your bike up and running for months to come.

Tune Up Level II - $100

This tune up level includes all of the above mentioned services, but also includes the parts and labour to replace all of the cables and housing for both brake and shifting systems.  This ensures that your bikes systems will work at their best.  On road, cyclocross and time trial bikes you also need to replace the bar tape.  We include the labour to replace it, and allow you to buy your tape of choice to install.  On the knobby side of it, we will also bleed hydraulic brakes, and true rotors if necessary.

Professional Wheel Building - $40 labor per wheel ($30 per wheel when all components purchased in store)

Wheels make my world go round, and I take pride in every wheel that I build.  Wheels are an oft overlooked detail that can improve your bicycle’s handling, stability, durability, and decrease the overall weight, but more importantly, decrease the rotating weight.  I specialize in determining your needs, use, riding style, and then tailoring the wheels to you.

I am a DT Swiss Certified Wheelbuilder, and I have built more wheels than I can count, but I still put the same thought and care into every wheel I build.  I only use the best components, and those include assorted DT Swiss and Sapim Spokes; rims from Mavic, Velocity, Edge Composite, and Stans; and hubs from American Classic, Campagnolo, DT Swiss, Shimano, Chris King, and Industry Nine.

Come in and see me, and we can match you to a new set of wheels personalized for exactly what you need.

Tubular Tyre Mounting - $100 a set - new tyre to new rim ($85 a set when tires purchased in store)

Tubular tyres and high performance go hand in hand.  Though tubulars are supreme in ride quality, rolling resistance, and traction; they are also very dangerous when not mounted properly.  Rome was not built in a day, and tubulars aren’t glued in one either.  I take four days to mount a set of new tyres to a set of new wheels, and carefully build thin layers of glue to insure a complete bond between tyres and rims.  I only use Vittoria Mastik glue, and can glue tyres for all disciplines.  I specialize in mounting cyclocross and track tyres, where adhesion is most crucial.  Cyclocross tyres can run as low as 20psi, and need a very reliable glue job to hang on.  We stock the full range of Challenge tubular cyclocross tyres, as well as a sampling of Vittoria, Dugast and FMB.

Bicycle Packing - $50 (Case Rental is Available as well)

Getting your bike to your destination doesn’t have to be a painful experience, and we strive to take some of the pressure off of you.  We professionally disassemble and pack your bike to arrive just as it left.  We also include a fit sheet with all your measurements so that your bike feels like home even when you’re not.  For your next big trip, race on the other side of the country, you can rely on us to get it there safely.  We can also work with any shipping company.

Custom Bicycle Building and Specification -

Finding the right bike can be a challenging endeavor, so we spend a lot of time talking with customers to determine their wants, needs, desires, and how we can make the bicycle meet all of their wishes.  We can start from the ground up with a custom or stock frame, and tailor each component to your exact desires.  I focus on spending money in the right areas of the bike, and saving where you can.  We emphasize the importance of quality wheels, frames and forks, and then can assemble other important components in a way to get the best performance for your money.  With components from Campagnolo, SRAM, Shimano, American Classic, Thomson, Alpha Q, RaceFace, and Salsa, we can fill any request.
